FESTIVALS AND MUSIC

From the local favorite, French Quarter Festival, to the world-famous Jazz and Heritage Festival, spring is one our favorite times of the year in New Orleans. Music festivals continue into the summer with the Essence Music Festival and the Satchmo Summerfest celebrating the great Louis Armstrong. Fall features the Voodoo Music and Arts Experience with its indie rock, punk and metal music and the Crescent City Blues & BBQ Fest. Regardless of your musical preference, we have the perfect boutique hotel to enhance your music festival experience.

With or without a festival, you can start your music adventure in a few of our local clubs. In the French Quarter you’ll find Pat O’Brien’s, Preservation Hall, The House of Blues, Palm Court Jazz Café or just outside of the French Quarter are Tipitina’s, Mid City Rock and Bowl, Fulton Alley and our fabulous nightclubs on Frenchmen Street.

There is no shortage of concert venues in New Orleans the Mercedes Benz Superdome, Smoothie King Center and our historic theatres the Orpheum Theatre, the Mahalia Jackson Theatre and the Saenger, which also is home to top Broadway touring shows.

SPORTING EVENTS

We start off the New Year hosting the Allstate Sugar Bowl as we’ve done every year since 1935. We enjoy heading to the ballpark in spring to cheer for New Orleans Minor League Baseball team, the Baby Cakes. You can head to the Smoothie King Center and watch our NBA basketball team, the Pelicans, take flight. The fans roar for our boys of the New Orleans Saints every fall at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. New Orleans is great for tailgating or cheering on your favorite team at one of our great sports bars or restaurants. And to include our golf fans, the annual Zurich Classic features high-profile golfers as the PGA Tour comes to town. If running is your thing? New Orleans offers the Crescent City Classic, Rock and Roll Marathon and other fun runs throughout the year.
